I just checked your Blog to see how you did yesterday. I continue to be amazed by your dedication and endurance. If we could all be as determined to do work for Gods Kingdom what a world this would be. Thanks for taking us along with you. It helps to see you so we can pray as you travel across America. Thanks to the whole crew for helping support Mark on his trip. We love you and pray for you,
Laverne & Frank

The road is long
With many a winding turns
That leads us to who knows where,
Who knows where.
But I’m strong,
Strong enough to carry him.
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother.

So on we go.
His welfare is of my concern.
No burden is he to bear,
We’ll get there.
For I know
We would not encumber me.
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother.

If I’m laden at all,
I’m laden with sadness
That everyone’s heart
Isn’t filled with the gladness
Of love for one another.

It’s a long, long road
From which there is no return.
While we’re on the way to there,
Why not share?
And the load
Doesn’t weigh me down at all.
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother.

He’s my brother.
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother…

Thanks for your love, your committment and your courage to obey as God instructs – to care for widows and orphans.

Welcome to the wonderful summer weather of Illinois!! Hot and humid!

I’m glad to see you tackled those early hills yesterday and made it to Springfield. Keep on pedaling!

I’m still thanking God for all my blessings of yesterday. The fellowship with all of you was special. The fellowship of prayer really touched my heart and actually brought me to tears (after the fact – when I got to my vehicle). “Remember me, when you pray and tears of joy fall from your eyes.” Thanks, again!

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16 NIV

God bless you, Kate, the crew and everyone close to you!

Blessings and Hugs,
Chrissy A.

Looking forward to the concert in Jacksonville!

Hey Mark-

Wanted to pass on a message from Marie Hudson who visited the James Fund web site-

Marie wrote-
First of all, I want to thank everyone connected with the James Fund for your efforts to help those of us who stuggle through the hardships of this life. It is a comfort to know that you are doing your part to serve God by helping the downtrodden.

Mark Schultz, especially, deserves a round of applause, and a salute, for his bike ride. Please let him know that I pray for his continued safety on his journey, along with others who accompany him.

Good to see someone still riding with you… you’re one day closer to the end.

“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I WILL give you rest.’” Matthew 11:28

May the Lord bless you today in a special way and may He put His hand of protection upon you and give you His strength!

Way to go crew!!! Clay you doing ok??? Sun to hot for you (concerned about you rolling down the hill)? Mark, maybe you should go bare back to even out that tan of yours. You know an uneven tan is no good, and looks awful with some of the outfits you may choose to wear at the up coming concerts. :-0
Hummm went garage saleing today and picked up another calendar, so now I have to decide which one to quote from, which one is going to give you strength to go on…. For your upcoming 2 days off: He said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” “Remind me, Lord, that my times of rest today are a gift from you. May I sense your presence at those special times.” Thoughts and prayers are with you all, and you are always in my prayers, even when I don’t send in a comment. Keep up the great job!!!

Mark,
This week I met a four year old boy, Brandon, who was just left at a Casa Hogar in Monterrey this week. He was quiet at first but after a little bit (and some cookies, bubbles and sidewalk chalk) he opened up to talk and play. Thank you for what you are doing that supports us in being the hands and feet of Jesus to these kids. Thank everyone for their prayers, financial support and time to be a part of God’s work. We are so blessed. Its great the attention you are bringing to the work of the James Fund. Dios te bendiga. God bless you.

Mark-
How weak was that bike shop? No stationary riding maching for you? Good job anyway, I don’t know how you kept your muscles warm and your riding form in line just standing around. You also rode with great poise, not even a flinch when your crew ran the old “corn field statue of liberty” on you.

Mark,

Just working on my computer late tonight as the itunes scroll through and an old Steven Curtis Chapman song came on that fit so well with your journey. The song is “What Now”. The first verse is:

I saw the face of Jesus in a little orphan girl
She was standing in the corner on the other side of the world
And I heard the voice of Jesus gently whisper to my heart
Didn’t you say you wanted to find me?
Well here I am, here you are

So, What now?
What will you do now that you found Me?
What now?
What will you do with this treasure you’ve found?
I know I may not look like what you expected
But if you remember this is right where I said I would be
You’ve found me
What now?

The orphans you are riding for are the face of Jesus and praise God you saw that and your “what now” is that you are now sharing it with the country you are riding through.

Keep cool and how about a little sunscreen?….Protect that skin!

Mark,
You were such a blessing to meet in our little town , word gets around pretty fast when a tour bus stops at the church. What a blessing to meet you, God truly has blessed your hands and feet to make this journey, Heard you last night in Jacksonville, It was awsome, Your songs and stories of how some of your songs were inspired made the songs mean so much more now. I love the statment you made that “you were in the room when God wrote the song” May God keep his angel around you as you ride,”It is well” Mark ,awsome,God bless you and the crew.
