Woow! 1200 people singing It Is Well WIth My Soul, I know that had to of been awesome. I go to a little church and sometimes we only have 20-30 people in the congregation, but when that song is sung, it sounds like we have at least 100 and I always end up in tears. To have 1200 singing it, must have been a good example of the choir we will all have in heaven. Its great to see your spirits lifted a little more today. I can still see you are tired, and not up to your old self, but I think after this weekend with Kate, being home, it will do you well. And Remember Me. That one is still a hard one for me, I always think of Stacy. The other night after watching one of the blogs, I was thinking of how proud she would of been to know you were doing this. Her desire for the Lord, her great love for kids, especially ones in need, So much of the same reasons you are riding this ride. I am sure she is up there in heaven pulling and cheering you on every pedal you take. I know she would have went out of her way to meet up with you on this ride with something fun and crazy for you along the way. Get some rest this weekend brother, and know we are all still praying for you every day whether you are riding, at a concert, or taking a few days off. you are in the hearts and prayers of many! We love you for you, we love you for all that you do and we love you for always keeping God in your heart, in your focus. You were obedient to Gods will and took on this ride for one cause, but this ride is speaking SO much more to so many! Rest well!

In Christ,
Mel

Schultz man,

I love our God!

I just watched the last two blogs back to back. I hear you pour out you emotions on what a tough ride you had and you trying to focus on God’s strength to finish the ride. How you have learned to depend on Him no matter what circumstance. THE LESSON FOR ALL OF US.

Then I watch this blog, and rejoice that God used those 1,200 people in Jacksonville to pour back into you! Way to go Jacksonville, ILL!! Enjoy the weekend with Kate. Rest up, freshen up, fill up and continue to look up to Our God, Creator and Sustainer!

Love ya!

Chris

I agree with mel, singing like that all together as brothers and sisters in christ is what it will be like in heaven, singing our hearts out to our wonderful heavenly Father. That is one of the things I look forward to when we get there!! ( plus no one will be able to tell there what an awful singer I am-hee!!)
You are doing more than most of us can even fathom accomplishing -great job Mark.
—————— YOU ROCK———————
Have an awesome weekend with your beautiful wife and take it easy.
We all love you

Mark,

My husband and I drove my 13 year old daughter and two of her friends two hours from the St. Louis area to see you Friday in concert. That was what she wanted for her birthday this year is to see you in concert. Of course, I didn’t agrue since you are my favorite Christian artist :-) Each evening since you began your journey, our family gets on the computer to read your blog. We are amazed at what God is doing in you and through you. We received so much more than just a concert in Jacksonville. It was such an awesome time of worship and drawing near to God. His prescence was there. We all were thrilled to see you, but most of all we were thrilled to get just a glimpse of what heaven will be like. We hope that you have an awesome weekend of renewal so that you can face the rest of the journey.

Love the helmet tan. Now THAT is funny. I guess the farmer’s tan explains why you were wearing long sleeves at the concert when it was like 85 degrees in the building. LOL.

We will praying you across america, Mark. Thanks for all you are doing. Your faith in action is awesome.

Way to go Jacksonville!!!

Hi Mark!

The concert in Jacksonville was totally awesome!! My sister and I enjoyed it tremendously. I had watched your video blog from the day before just shortly before we left to go to Jacksonville for the concert. My heart was hurting because of the struggles and adversities you had met with that day and you were missing Kate. When sometimes we are facing dilemmas, God shows Himself in wonderous ways. You being with the Jacksonville audience was one such way. I could see it in your face as the concert continued. You were truly touched by their caring hearts and lovely voices!! When we were singing “It Is Well With My Soul” at the end of the concert, you were “drinking in the moment” by just standing there listening. It was awesome!! I am so glad I could be there to share in it.

I hope your weekend home with Kate was restful and just what you both needed.

I just have to say this past week was awesome for me getting to meet you in Quincy on Tues & seeing you off on Wed morning. Then seeing you in concert in Jacksonville and the opportunity to have the short visit with you after the concert was wonderful! Thank you, again.

Keep on pedaling, Mark! I will continue to pray for you everyday!

God bless you, Kate, your great crew and everyone close to you!

Blessings and Hugs,
Chrissy A.

Mark
My parents and I were watching a message online, from a Pastor whos church we attended for 4 years, in Manitoba. The message was on “Quitters, Campers and Climbers”. He shared the differences between the 3…In short form this is what was shared. When climbing a mountain, the quitters get to a certain point, stop (give up) turn around and go back because the rest of the climb looks too difficult. The campers get to a certain point in the journey, stop and figure the view looks good from there and just stay there, rather than going on. The climbers, go all the way, persevering through all the tough times (challenges, discouragement) and the good times. Watching your blogs thought this journey you’re on, I can see that you are a climber and not a quitter or camper!!!!! I know you have had great days and you’ve had terrible days, where you’ve felt like giving up, and yet persevered through it all…You are a climber! “And we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God” Romans 8 :28 KOKD (Keep On Kicking the Devil) Mark! You continue to bless and inspire me and many others along the way!
Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers all the way from Alberta Canada! We love you Mark! (((((((hugs))))))) to you and Kate! See you in August!

Mark,

I was in Jacksonville Friday evening for your concert. This was the second time that I have seen you and it just gets better and better!! I took my mom to see you, she loves ‘Walking Her Home’. My dad went home to heaven 6 1/2 years ago and I know that when she hears you sing, she only thinks of ‘them’. They met each other when she was four and he was eight, she only loved one man. Thanks for all of the great memories that your songs stir up. I emailed a year ago that someone (on WIBI) compared you to Billy Joel in your ‘ballads’. Billy Joel doesn’t have a thing on you!!
I will continue to pray for you and your crew as you journey on serving our Lord. I am thankful that you had some time with Kate and hope that you feel refreshed and renewed to bike on!
Thank you for such a wonderful evening of sharing yourself with just a few (almost 1200!!) of your friends, it was an amazing night that will carry me until the next time I see you again.

Mark,

What a wonderful way to wind up your time riding with a concert- Praising the Lord. I get tears in my eyes thinking how powerful 1200 people must sound singing for the Glory of God.

I am reminded of my trip to Mexico when we were at an orphanage and the kids sang for us. I remember watching 1 little girl closing her eyes and just belting out her love for the Lord. No shame but complete and utter love for the Lord- what a sight :) Then the children placing hands on us and praying for us. What lessons I learned from the orphans and how through the love of Christ we are NEVER alone!

Love ya and lots of love to Kate!!!

Thanks Mark!

My husband, Rick, and I were there in Jacksonville with everybody else. We came in from Imperial, MO (a suburb of St. Louis) to support what you’re doing. My son, Trevor (14), is a huge fan of your music and he looks up to you a lot. Him and I saw you for the first time in concert in St. Louis a few years back. I remember you talking about your birth mother that night and how thankful you were to her. I want to let you know that your words changed my life that night. At intermission Trevor and I got in line to meet you and he got your autograph and I told you that your words gave me hope, but I didn’t tell you why. August 2nd will be the 22nd birthday of the son I gave up. The words to the song “Everything To Me” sounds like part of my story, only from the other side. When you sang it Friday night, again, I cried. Not in grief, but in hope that my son had a chance to have a better life than I could have given him at the time. I don’t know if I will ever meet him again on this earth, but I do hope I will see him in Heaven when he comes home.

Thank you for being as faithful as you are to our magnificent God that we serve.

Sincerely,

Kathy Rodgers

Yep, that “Well With My Soul” sung with the audience is awesome! We were there in Dodge City when KJIL radio asked for your help with the Greensberg relief concert. I hadn’t heard that in a while, however from way back across the Civic Center it sounded great.

Hope you had a much better day getting back on the bike today!

Mark,

My father grew up in an orphanage in Alton, IL. When he reached his teens, he was put out on his own. My Dad worked 3 jobs while putting himself through Jacksonville,IL High School to get his High School diploma. I know times were hard for him. But, he did it and I am so proud of him! So, the James fund is something close to my heart.

I was batized a Christian last September. The concert in Jacksonville was the first Christian concert I have attended. It was better than I could have imagined. The chapel was beautiful, your singing and stories inspirational, and the spirit of the crowd amazing! The feeling of community and faith that night is unliked anything I have felt!

I had the opportunity to shake your hand after the concert but I wasn’t able to thank you for sharing your love for God and thinking of the orphans. You have helped me to become even closer to Jesus.

I will continue to pray for your safety on your journey, success in reaching the hearts of many, and continued inspiration to bring all of us your music.

God bless,

Mark,

I cannot even come up with the words I would need to describe how much the concert in Jacksonville, ILL meant to me. Everytime I tell someone about it my eyes begin to tear up. I have been to a lot of concerts, but I must say you are the most sincere performer I have ever seen. When I look at you perform it is so evident that you are truelly a man after God’s own heart.

My mother is currently suffering from cancer, and the words you shared regarding us not always understanding why we must go through certain things was so inspiring to me. Sometimes we don’t realize that the trials God is walking through with us are only put before us so that we will become who God wants us to be.

Again, thank you so much for listening to what the Lord is telling you to do. You are a wonderful witness to the blessing’s that God will honor us with if we only submit to his will.

In Christ Love,

Thank you Mark for an awesome night in Jacksonville. It more than surpassed my expecations. Fri afternoon as I drove from Granite City, IL I got word that one of my clients was near death. I was pretty down when I arrived in Jacksonville. Then you sang “It is Well With My Soul”. Oh my! I was like you and could hardly sing, but instead stood with my hands raised to God and tears running down my cheeks. Even though many of your songs bring tears to my eyes, I was so encouraged and uplifted by the end of the night. When you sang, “Everything to Me” I couldn’t help but think about my best friend from high school that gave up her son up for adoption the summer after we graduated in 1973. I was there with her and your song brought back a flood of memories.

We had 15 people from our church with us and everyone was blessed and they’re still talking about it.

I hope you had a good time with Kate this weekend, even though I am sure it was way to short.

Thank you for your ministry. You are in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless You!

I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart! You said at the concert you would think of Jacksonville at the next stop that was hard. I will think of Jacksonville when things get tough too. It was a night full of emotions for myself.

We went to the concert because I asked my husband for tickets as an anniversary present. I was surprised when he came home and should me the tickets! I truly believe that God intended us to be at that concert. When we were singing ‘It is Well’, you were not the only one with tears running down your face. The thought knowing that God was there, in that chapel, it still brings a rsuh over me!

God was there that night…And the love in that room was undenyable. God bless you in what you are doing Mark! Please come back and see us again soon! You are in our thoughts and prayers.

God Bless!
Becky Bertram
